Losing a parent is one of the hardest things that as a human being I have ever had to endure. My heart aches like it never has before. My Mom could always see past everyones imperfection and find the best qualities in them when everyone else gave up on them. When I was growing up the door was always open to those in need. Many countless times she would take in friends of my siblings and myself and make them feel at home. I cannot count how many times we had friends at our Thanksgiving and Christmas table. My mother never pushed anyone away from having a hot meal and good conversation. To this day, a lot of our friends still visit to check in on her and my Dad. She would refer to them as the adopted children. As for her family, we always came first and she was always there for us, be it good or be it bad. A quality personality she inherited from her mother. If I am half the person my Mom was I will be doing great things in life. I already miss her tremendously!
