Losing my best friend of 20 years has been the most horrible and surreal experience of my life. I know Ill never be the same and some days it feels like I wont make it through the grief. But today Im thankful. Im thankful to have had the pleasure of calling her my best friend, my confidant, my Mexican food partner, the one who reminded me to have more fun and try to loosen up, the one who would blare NSYNC with me and not care who was judging, the one who loved to make me laugh, the one who LOVED to make me say the same word or phrase 10,000 times so she could laugh, the one who drove across state lines on more than one occasion to pick me up, the one who could always finish the sentence when I quoted Friends, I could go on for days but most of all, Im thankful shes the sister I always wanted but never had. Today, like everyday since she left, Im missing DeAnna, and Im so thankful for The Lord, because without Him Id be crazy, and for the people in my life who have been there to help me try to be strong and think of the good times. Especially my mom, husband, and my brother, I love you guys! Debra Whitworth Thomas and Amanda Burton Webb, youre in my prayers today as you say goodbye to another long time friend. Love yall!
