Lost in translation... Good ≠ righteous. Just because they - TopicsExpress

Lost in translation... Good ≠ righteous. Just because they are synonyms in our western/Greek minds/dictionaries, does not mean they were written as such in scripture. There is none RIGHTEOUS, not even one(Romans 3:10), but is that what Paul really thought David said in Psalm 14:3? What did David actually write (& Paul actually quote)?: There is no one who does GOOD, not even one. (Psalms 14:3b) And Jesus said to him, Why do you call Me GOOD? No one is GOOD except God alone. (Luke 18:19) Noah was a RIGHTEOUS man, blameless in his time; Noah walked with God. (Genesis 6:9) For I have chosen him, so that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of YHWH by doing RIGHTEOUSness and justice, so that YHWH may bring upon Abraham what He has spoken about him. ...Abraham came near and said, Will You indeed sweep away the RIGHTEOUS with the wicked? Suppose there are fifty RIGHTEOUS within the city; will You indeed sweep it away and not spare the place for the sake of the fifty RIGHTEOUS who are in it? Far be it from You to do such a thing, to slay the RIGHTEOUS with the wicked, so that the RIGHTEOUS and the wicked are treated alike. Far be it from You! Shall not the Judge of all the earth deal justly? (Genesis 18:19, 23-25) Judah recognized them, and said, She is more RIGHTEOUS than I (Genesis 38:26a) Or what great nation is there that has statutes and judgments as RIGHTEOUS as this whole law which I am setting before you today? (Deuteronomy 4:8) For YHWH knows the way of the RIGHTEOUS, But the way of the wicked will perish. (Psalms 1:6) Little children, make sure no one deceives you; the one who practices RIGHTEOUSness is RIGHTEOUS, just as He is RIGHTEOUS; (1 John 3:7) Next time someone tells you that you cant be RIGHTEOUS, tell them what the Bible has to say about it. Now, just as He is righteous, go & live RIGHTEOUS!
