Lost my phone Thursday afternoon while hiking at Walnut Point. Had accidently left it on top of the car, then drove around the park before departing. Didnt notice it missing until a grocery store stop a few minutes later. Returned and searched the area where I had parked, with no results. Returned Friday, AM, to resume the search, only to discover the only State park employee left on the payroll, using a leaf blower to remove leaves and debri from the very area I was going to search. I asked if he had found a cellphone... Of course he hadnt, but assured me, if one was found and turned in, I could pick it up in the park office. I continued to search for another half hour after he departed, with negative results, and almost all hope of ever finding it, and 6 years of compiled phone numbers lost. As I was about to leave, the park employee arrived in his truck, and produced my cellphone. He had found it in the middle of the lane, almost two miles away. MY LUCKY DAY, indeed. Now Im busy backing up my numbers.
