He could have given her the shawl as a gift, and she happened to have it on her when she was killed. No direct evidence supporting the fact that he was, in fact, Jack the Ripper. Kosminski was always at the bottom of the short list of suspects, with a lot of factors working against the fact that he was the Ripper. ALSO, there has been a list of Eddowes possessions at the time of her death for years, and the shawl was never one of them. Lets not discount the fact that they are now promoting a book about their discovery.
