Lotus’s Kimi Raikkonen and Toro Rosso’s Daniel Ricciardo have been given two-place grid penalties for not queuing up correctly at the pit exit when Q2 resumed in Montreal on Saturday following the red flag period for Felipe Massa’s crash. Several drivers were called to the stewards following qualifying, however only Raikkonen and Ricciardo were penalised as they did not leave the pit exit in the order in which they arrived, and did not exit from the designated ‘fast lane’. With Raikkonen’s penalty being applied before Ricciardo’s, both drivers actually only lose just one place on the grid and will now start Sunday’s race from 10th and 11th respectively, which boosts Sauber’s Nico Hulkenberg moves up two places to ninth. The other Lotus of Grosjean already has a penalty and he will start at the back of the grid.
