“Love Coaching Works” Without fail, when entering into a relationship with a family who is struggling with a teenager who is flexing h/her individualism separate of the families inheritable characteristics, I most often marvel at how quickly the parents have surrendered and signed off on their child. In doing so, many parents have placed their youngster within the spectrums of being labeled. Rejection to a child can be crushing especially when applied by a parent. First rule of thumb when considering LOVE COACHING; it is wise that the unacceptable behavior is rejected, not the child. Sounds too simple? I share an age old axiom passed on to me by my grandfather: “You do not close the barn door after the horse has gotten out and run away! You thwart that from happening by being vigilant and keeping the door closed and locked.” Love Coaching is nothing more than staying ahead of the curve. When your child becomes ill you will surely see the symptoms requiring immediate and seek preventive and medical action. The same analogy can be used with the teen that is getting sideways, upside-down and is testing the water. If you give your teen enough free time to explore other options in life, and allow them to introduce themselves to mindsets free of your parental intentions and coaching, you will find yourself on a slippery slope. REACT, REJECT THE BEHAVIOR, REDIRECT, and REALIGN yourself with being observant and involved. Leave the hammer in your tool box and love coach.
