Love Is a Choice Today weve bought into this myth that love is uncontrollable, that its something that just happens to us; its not something we control. Truthfully, even the language we use implies the uncontrollability of love. We say, I fell in love,or I fell for you as if love is some kind of a trap Its like Im walking along one day and boom! - I fell in love. I couldnt help myself. Nah bruh you made some choices along the way that led you to specific outcome. But I have to tell you the truth - thats not love. Love doesnt just happen to you. Love is a choice and it represents a commitment. Theres no doubt about it, attraction is uncontrollable and arousal is uncontrollable. But attraction and arousal are not love. They can lead to love, but they are not love. Love is a choice. You must choose to love God; he wont force you to love him (Deuteronomy 30:20). You can thumb your nose at God and go a totally different way. You can destroy your life if you choose to do that. God still wont force you to love him. Because he knows love cant be forced. And this same principle is true about your relationships: you can choose to love others, but God wont force you to love anyone. The greatest gift ever given was love. God loved us so much he gave. (Choice ) Christ gave his life on the cross. (Choice) Same is true for us we can choose to give our love. Love on someone whose hard to love or thinks theyre not worthy of and watch their world be changed. Choose to do it today folks.
