Love heals. Sometimes it’s the only thing that can heal - TopicsExpress

Love heals. Sometimes it’s the only thing that can heal something that’s broken inside of us. Fear is the opposite of love. Fear wants to live so it asserts itself in any way it can. But love is stronger than fear and if we allow it, if we give love the chance, we will look back on the fear that we allowed in our thought process and see that it was never really real. The reason why we have such a hard time giving up the fear is because we’re convinced it’s what keeps us from being hurt. But it’s all a lie-the strength we believe we gain in turning away from love is self defeating. We can live without really loving someone, but it’s a lie. We aren’t living. We’re walking around dead inside, with no joy. We may not smell like death, we may not be rotting on the outside. But we aren’t alive either. How can we be alive with no joy? How can we be alive when we aren’t living? I’ve been saying for years that I would rather be dead inside than experience the pain love causes. But love isn’t the cause of the pain. Fear is…because it feeds on itself. It has to, because it isn’t real. So, when love shines its light on the fear, it’s so obvious that fear is nothing without the darkness that we wonder how we couldn’t see it. I’ve let my love shine for my kids, my friends and my family. But the fear of letting love inside my heart, in its way of surviving, held fast. And I knew I had no joy in my life, but I believed this was the way to live. It is in fact how one dies inside. Love, though…love can heal this, if we let it. Love can shine its light and make one see that none of it was real. Love, if it’s real, sees us for who we are and gives us more strength in the light it shines on us, than anything fear ever could. It believes in who we are and leaves no room for darkness, or fear or doubt that we are a child of God. And the realness of it, if we let it, can allow us to see that we should love ourselves because to not love ourselves is to dishonor someone’s child. We can see the light that love has shone on who we are, and that it is the most real thing. We know that the fear was not the real thing… love is.
