Love is in the air, and this weeks adoption traffic has hardly given us time to take a breath to share all kinds of amazing adoption news with you! Families came together, friendships were made, bonds were formed, and many dear hearts made their way home for good. An extra special adoption started out the week when Tree House adoption counselor Olga finally brought her buddy Wilbur home!! This homecoming was long anticipated and when was a little surreal as it happened. Shes the proud momma ofher third Tree House Bucktown alum, and is happy to report that Wilbur is settling in well. He is sweeter than she could ever have imagined and wants nothing more than to be by her side (or on her bed!) Keep an eye out for updates in coming days! Next we said goodbye to our lovable, huggable, boy next door Grey Goose on Monday. A volunteer surprised us with news that she was ready to adopt a cat after fostering dogs for the last year. Recently married, the volunteer and her new husband knew their house just wouldnt be home without the love of a feline companion. Grey Goose turned out to be the perfect addition, and 48 hours after his arrival, weve received word that hes acclimating purr-fectly! Not one to be considered second best, Lovie CK, who was on the top of the last adopters list of favorites, won the heart of a sweet family who visited us on Wednesday. A mom brought in her two little boys to visit, and although they were charmed by kittens galore who were eager to show off their jumping and climbing skills, it was fun, free-spirited Lovie (whose really just a kitten in disguise) that won them over. They could tell after spending a few minutes feeling his purr and watching his cute, curious antics, that he was just the cat they were looking for. Anyone whose visited the Bucktown Branch in the last two weeks was instantly raided by a swarm of the cutest, cuddliest, purriest, most endearing kittens that may have graced our adoption center. One adopter was lucky in love when he came back to find that the kittens who enchanted him last weekend were actually still available for adoption. (We guessed theyd hardly last an afternoon here). Sweet Honey Heart and her charming brother Pollenator have found a place to call home. Were so happy for the pair, but the self-indulgent part of us is already missing their company ;) Silver Spoon was yet another lucky kitty this week, who sassed her way into her adopters heart yesterday evening. A lovely young woman came in looking to meet the yin to her yang (or her male cat Marly at home) and it turns out Silver Spoon was the perfect counterpart! We see the two playing together in no time! Last, but certainly not least (drumroll please)....Malta has been adopted!! We are so happy to announce that after months and months of stealing hearts and coveting laps, that Malta will have a lap of her own forever! She was adopted by a very sweet, compassionate woman who was committed to doing everything in her power to help Malta find relief in the comfort of a home to call her own, as well as the desire to work with a vet to determine the best way to manage Maltas health issues. Malta was swept away earlier this afternoon and we are beyond excited for her and her adopter! We know its just a matter of time before Malta is curled up beside her new momma, purring the night away. Finally, at our Uptown Branch, sweet and affectionate Porcelain was adopted, as was Rauschenberg! Every adoption story is a special one and we are so happy that this week we have so many great stories to share! These special connections are what remind us of just how important our work is. We cant wait to see which lucky cats are chosen next! Best wishes to all of our recent adopters and adoptees!
