Love:life::death: love -An equation of sacrifice Part-6 Doctor calls my name and asked me to arrange more blood and I went straight to the blood bank for help and they give me a contact number of one person who can help me out. I asked Bharat to call him and ask him to help us out. He picked the call and he came straight to hospital within half an hour. He is an Indian and he is a social worker. His name was Mr. Mahadevan, who is an employee at TCS and is here in California from last 10 years. He got ready to give the blood. He did not speak a lot. We had a casual handshake and he patted at my back and said, “Gentleman doesn’t worry. Have faith in humanity.” I was pleased by his words. At that time I learnt a lot and the best thing is that be helpful. He came along with two other people and I sit with them. They taught me about that man. He is a social worker and runs many NGOs in California. He came here when he was having a meeting with us. When you called him from the contact number of blood bank he stopped the meeting in between and attained your call. When you said it is an emergency, he made an announcement that if anyone of us had a same blood group then please accompany him and he suspended the meeting. He is project manager of a big project and we all are his juniors working under him. For few minutes I had forgotten about everything and was just thinking about this man. He is in my eyes a real human. I was thinking to illustrate my noble task but I didn’t find any. I was feeling guilty of myself, I find myself inferior in front of this man. He don’t even asked my name and just for humanity he came up leaving everything. He even brought two other men to help us out. His charisma was so alluring and so lively that I can’t resist myself before touching his feet. He won my heart and I asked him what you want in return, to which he replied, “If you are healthy and if you are capable then please donate blood. Don’t know when someday somewhere someone will help you too like I did today.” His words touched my ears and I had decided that I will also help and donate blood to anyone who needs it. Doctors came out and they shook hands and congratulate me, “She will see many more summers and wish you a very happy married life man. And please don’t show fake documents, I operated just because you were doing so much for her and I had a seen a trust in your eyes which says all the story of your eternal love. Stay blessed. Meet me tomorrow.” I said thank you to him and he pointed his finger toward Mr. Mahadevan and said say thank you to him because if he would be late by few minutes then maybe she would be no more among us. He gave her a new life. My father and we went straight to him and donated 1 Lac Indian Rupees to one of his NGOs which work for handicapped children. Finally she opened her eyes and we meet her. She was looking very happy and she was in ecstasy. She thanked Bharat and her wife for being there always and she thanked my parents. She did not say anything to me but just winked her eyes and smiled at me. For the next two days we were in the hospital itself. I slept there near her bed. I kissed on her forehead and gave her a side hug. I whispered into her ears and said, “chal ab jeeyege.” She smiled and said thank you for everything. Take me to home. I want to be with my mother-in-law. Here in India everyone was ready to welcome us. They had booked hotel and all were set for a grand engagement ceremony. Bharat and her wife also accompanied us to India for our wedding. They took a leave from office. **************************************************** Today its three years to our marriage and we also run a blood bank with the name Mahadevan society. I got my life and many lessons. To sum up it’s all about sacrifice. You love someone and you become a reason for their life.
