Lovecraftian Film of the Month....Dagon. Well since our theme this month is Shadow Over Innnsmouth and our Great Old One of the Month is Dagon we of course must have Stuart Gordons film Dagon as our film of the month. Sure many have seen this one and sure many also own a copy of it on dvd. It is as many know, despite the title, based more on Lovecrafts The Shadow Over Innsmouth then Dagon. It tells a young business tycoon who while vacationing with his wife and two friends becomes ship wreaked along side a small but mysterious fishing village near Spain, named Inboca, filling in for Insmouth, This 2001 Spanish shot film was director Stuart Gordons third foray into Lovecrafts fiction following his popular Re-Animator & From Beyond along with screenwriter Dennis Paoli. Unlike those films Dagon is a bit less campy. So thoughts people?? Great? Not so great? Gordons best film? Faithful to the source material? Do share............
