Loved my morning devotion!!! Isaiah 43:18-19 Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? Dwell means to reside, stay, or have your home in. Change isnt always easy, and when we have to give up familiar places or people, it can sometimes be very difficult. We like the familiar patterns of stable relationships and enjoy the comfort of reliable routines. When I refuse to move on into the future God has prepared for me, Im actually settling down in my past, taking up residence there, and constantly thinking about how much better things used to be. But theres a reason God warns us about not dwelling in the past. Its because HE IS DOING A NEW THING! Well miss out on the wonderful and exciting new things God has for us if we stubbornly refuse to let go of the past. WE CANNOT DWELL IN TWO PLACES AT ONCE! WOW!! I have never looked at holding on to the past in this way. We cant be in two places at once......so we cant dwell (live) in the past and live/thrive in the future. :-) I so hope you enjoyed this as much as I did!!!!
