Lovely video capturing a way of looking at life. I share it - TopicsExpress

Lovely video capturing a way of looking at life. I share it because it resonates with the way I tell my story to myself. For a variety of reasons I have been thinking about the end of memory. The ever present now takes on meaning because we are able to hold it out and understand it in the next now. Memory makes that possible. We exist because we remember that we do. Death brings the end of memory. We cant envision that. To think of it means we are still alive and listening to the stories we tell ourselves. We will never re-experience the moment after memory ends. For comfort we create ways for memory not to end. Lots of names for it; Afterlife, reincarnation, karma, each with their own palette of hues beautiful or terrible. All somehow linking that next now to the one just before memory ended. Ive counseled younger family that loved ones live on in our memory, that they should live their own lives in a way that they will be missed the same as they now miss another. I talked my mother out of life with my hands on her shoulders. I hope her final now was made more meaningful because I did. It gave much meaning to story I tell myself. There is much more to this way of thinking and my way evolves constantly. Its taken nearly 59 years to get this far yet Im comfortable that my last now will close my story as complete. I strive to live on in the lives Ive touched and hope that I do. Post script: I figure that this might be interpreted as being by someone knowing or planning an early departure. Not Effing So, Coffin Breath! I got no plans now or any time within the next 35 or 40 years to give anybody a chance to keep me alive only in their memory.
