Low key today. The last day of a three day weekend, light flurries outside husband still out of town so we nested at home. Cooking, light cleaning, some Mario kart, kids came up with their own games. Sophie loves these relaxed kind of days. She just grabs her ipad and waddles over to wherever she feels like being. Usually its on my bed. If shes hungry she comes into the kitchen and sits in her chair at the table. Lately she also goes into the room she shares with her sister and asks to be put up on the top bunk. They hang out there together. We dont put any pressure on her to engage or interact with us. If she does though, we give her feedback and cuddles. Could we push her more? Perhaps. But if it would be at a cost of harmony and peace in our home, and her own happiness it wouldnt be worth it at this stage. I believe more learning happens when shes happy and relaxed anyway and we put the relationship with her as our top priority. A little glimpse into our autism method :)
