Luc De Voss, RIP. a short time ago I became aware of Luc de Voss. It was pointed out to me by friends that we were in some ways similar artists. It was arranged for us to meet and perform versions of each others songs. I worked out from translated texts, a version of Mia his most famous song. I really liked it. He liked my version. We met and our meeting was filmed .We got on very well. Within Flemmish culture he is really famous, and Mia is consistently voted best song etc in reader/ listener polls. What I saw was a funny, intelligent and engaged man, who maybe came across as arrogant because he didnt want to waste time on bullshit. He was an artist. I think we would have become friends. Its funny when you do something like this, our art convo was kind of forced, the cameras etc made us self conscious. Then we started to talk about Thin Lizzy. Like me he was a fan. He kind of thought they were perfect. They kind of were. suddenly we were just two songwriters laughing and talking. Then it was over. So sad to hear of his death , he was only two years older than me-52, I am singing Mia all over the house. Next gig Ill perform it. Maybe record it . His name means Luc the fox and there was something foxy about him. Slán man, glad to have met you. the stars they come and the stars they go, but elvis he stands alone, Mia doesnt understand suffering, she asks me do I still dream- Luc De Voss (Trans Seán Millar 2014)https://youtube/watch?v=gIGvAk9y50E Gorki Mia Luc de Vos in delaatsteshow!
