Luc Montagnier shared the 2008 Nobel medicine prize for discovering HIV. Besides his work in virology, Montagnier is also known for the controversial claim that DNA emits weak electromagnetic waves that leave a long-lasting structural imprint on the surrounding water. Now that claim appears to have at least the tacit support of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, which is hosting a meeting on the topic.
