Lucy was born with a condition called Congenital Vertical Talus, - TopicsExpress

Lucy was born with a condition called Congenital Vertical Talus, also known as rocker bottom foot. She also has a knee contracture (cannot straighten her leg completely). As a result, this little cutie’s gait is altered. Left untreated, Lucy would likely live in chronic pain and require a wheelchair. But we’re confident that her current condition won’t slow her down for a couple of reasons. First, Lucy is taking her first miracle flight to St. Louis Childrens Hospital, where she’ll be in the experienced hands of Dr. Matthew Dobbs. Mom and dad know the process will take several months of castings and surgeries, but everyone is sees a very bright future. Second, Lucy is one smart, brave little girl who just 13 months ago could not speak a word of English (she’s now fluent). Adopted from an orphanage in China last September, she also underwent surgery for a tethered cord after only being with her new family for 7 months. So when mom told us that Lucy wanted her “bad foot” fixed so she can wear flip flops like her BFF and niece Sadie, we figured she’ll be showing off her toes real soon! To Lucy, challenges are just something to overcome. :) Another Day, Another Miracle
