Lukaku leaves NEWS Romelu Lukaku has today (Wednesday) joined Everton on a permanent transfer. The 21-year-old departs Stamford Bridge following a three-year spell at the club and moves to Goodison Park, where he spent last season on loan. Lukaku joined the Blues in August 2011 from Anderlecht, making his debut as a substitute in a 3-1 home win over Norwich City. In August 2012 he joined West Bromwich Albion on a season- long loan at the end of which he was nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year award, as well as being voted the club’s Player of the Year. Lukaku began the 2013/14 season at Chelsea and made three substitute appearances, including one in the UEFA Super Cup match against Bayern Munich. Shortly after, a deal was agreed for Lukaku to move to Everton on loan for the remainder of the campaign. The forward was part of the Belgium World Cup squad as they reached the quarter-finals of the competition. Lukaku ends his time at Stamford Bridge having made 15 appearances for the club. We thank him for his service and wish him the best of luck for the future.
