Luke 6:39-42 At early stages in our childhood, our parents, - TopicsExpress

Luke 6:39-42 At early stages in our childhood, our parents, guardians, teachers, etc, teach us to make judgment between right and wrong. This is a necessary part of human formation. We need an acute sense of rightness and justice to be able to discern truth in every matter and be able to lead others aright. However, more often we see ourselves, not making effort to help others change but to use their weaknesses to pull them down, especially for one worldly benefit or the other. In doing all these, we fail to see ourselves as humans who also have weaknesses. How would a child look at a parent who has never been to church but will always instruct the child to go to church? How can a parent convince the child that stealing is bad when the child knows that his daily bread, school fees, etc, will not be available if the parent does not steal from his/her company? We do a lot of things and find reasons to justify our actions, but evil remains evil and cannot take the place of good. Let us make effort to learn, do and teach what is right.
