Luther G. Williams 2 mins · Edited The law did not end with the crucifixion of Jesus. I challenge any and all partial preterists/futurists to show how the curses of Deuteronomy, chapter 28 and of Leviticus, chapter 26 were fulfulled at the cross. If that were the case, then Jerusalem and its temple would have been destroyed at the cross. The Last Days saw the overlap of two covenants. Christians were dead to the law (Romans 7:1-6), but the law itself was not quite dead. It was DYING, and there is a profound difference. To borrow an excellent illustration by Don K. Preston, if you defected from Berlin for the West in 1988, you became dead to the law of communist Germany. Nevertheless, the death of the law of communist Germany was still about a year away. Hebrews 8:8-13 and many other New Testament eschatological passages employ transitional language.
