Lutheran World Federation Organizes a Strategic Leadership Workshop for LCCN/LCN in Jos The Human and Institutional Capacity Development (HICD) of the Lutheran World Federation (LWF) is organizing a Strategic Leadership Workshop (SLW) for the Lutheran Church of Christ Nigeria (LCCN) and the Lutheran Church of Nigeria (LCN) as a fellow-up of the LWF Strategy 2012 – 2017 to facilitate member Churches’ growth in capacity building for holistic mission and deepening of relationship with each other. SLW for the LCCN/LCN is to facilitate a participatory process of enhancing practical skills in essential areas of Church Leadership; setting core organizational priorities for the coming 5 – 10 years; aligning staff/volunteer capacities to core priorities; and building applicable HR structures addressing the organizational/institutional needs of the churches. At the conclusion of the SLW, the LCCN and LCN will have specific action plans of theirs on the basis of which they will further develop and/or review their respective manuals or guidelines for human resources management, HICD planning and policy. Participants at the SLW comprise church leaders, theological educators, diakonia/development practitioners, representative of WICAS, Youth, HICD committees, people with disability and other stakeholders. This accompaniment is part of the five SLW (2 in Africa, 2 in Asia and 1 in LAC) processes planned to be facilitated in the course of 2013. The SLS/C will be in session from August 19 – 23, 2013. The participants are expected to arrive on August 19 and depart on August 23, 2013. The venue for the SLW will be Jos, Nigeria.
