So if youre wondering how fundamentalist politicians and salesmen can say what they say, look no further than the Ten Commandments. Im thinking of a particular flavour of Canadian national politician, but they dont have a patent on lying--its around the world. All this as segway to a great rock song from the 1960s. It does not sound like every other rock song, it has identity. The lead vocals are fabulous, and the pre-digital echo is spot on. Lyrics are the weakest link; they meander, then border on the deranged. As in maybe a quarter of the songs ever written, the singer is sad that his sweetheart has left him.
