Lynsey de Paul, one of the first successful female - TopicsExpress

Lynsey de Paul, one of the first successful female singer-songwriters in the UK, died yesterday of brain haemorrhage. De Paul was the first woman to win an Ivor Novello Award, for her song «Wont Somebody Dance with Me», in 1974. In 1977 she co-wrote and performed «Rock Bottom» with Mike Moran, representing the United Kingdom in the 22nd Eurovision Song Contest in London. Despite the pessimistic title, the song came in second. She was a remarkable musician with a remarkable career, and will be sorely missed. RIP. #eurovision #ivornovelloaward #LynseyDePaul
