M-Class Solar Flaring Ramping Up On February 2nd, 2014: TESIS Sun Flare Monitor (GOES-15) shows that we took a total of 9 Solar Flares yesterday, with all but one of them coming from Beta-Gamma-Delta Active Region 1967. There were two M-Class Solar Flares yesterday with the first being a M1.0-Class Flare out of AR 1967 at 01:25 UTC and the second of M3.0-Class Flare intensity from Sunspot 1967 at 07:23 UTC. So far today TESIS is showing 3 separate M-Class Solar Flares: a M2.6-Flare out of Beta-Gamma AR 1968 at 06:34 UTC, a M2.2-Class Flare out of AR 1967 at 08:20 UTC and a M4.4-Class Solar Flare at 09:31 UTC. M-Class Flaring is expected to continue with a 15% chance of X-Flares over the next 48 hours. ACE Solar Wind Telemetry shows the speed (yellow) up around 375 km/s, while the density (orange) is over 2 protons/cm^3. Still waiting on the January 30th CME eruptions glancing blow at Earth… According to NOAAs Solar Wind Forecast: Solar wind parameters are expected to continue at nominal levels through approximately mid day on Day 1 (02 Feb), when a glancing blow from the 30 Jan CME is expected to enhance the solar wind... The geomagnetic field is expected to be mostly quiet through approximately mid-day on day 1 (02 Feb) with the expected arrival of a glancing blow from the 30 Jan CME. Unsettled to minor storm (G1-Minor) levels are expected for the latter half of day 2. Quiet to active conditions are expected on day 2 (03 Feb) as CME effects continue into the early hours of the period before returning to mostly quiet levels by day 3 (04 Feb). Eyes open, keine Panik.
