MACABRE MONDAY – MICHIE’S GHOSTS: Thunder, lighting, a meteor - TopicsExpress

MACABRE MONDAY – MICHIE’S GHOSTS: Thunder, lighting, a meteor storm and full moon – it was a perfect evening for ghost hunting. A paranormal investigative team, associated with the TAPS Ghost Hunters television series, visited Michie Tavern two years aago. The sound of footsteps . . . as if someone were wearing boots . . . began around 12:30 a.m. It continued off and on throughout the evening. Members of the team would address the spirit, “If you demonstrate that you are here, we promise we will leave.” The team would hear knocking and footfalls. While they were upstairs in the ballroom, they heard a loud, crashing sound downstairs and yet nothing was disturbed. Perhaps the spirit perceived he or she was fulfilling his or her end of the bargain. However, the paranormal team did not leave --- that is, until they heard a persistent, restless pacing back and forth in the Keeping Room. They quickly began packing up their equipment. One gentleman was leaning against the newel post, when he heard distinct footsteps going up the steps, right beside him. The sound of the steps stopped a moment, as if someone were pausing on the landing and then resumed, walking slowly up to the ballroom. The head of the investigative team later said, “These guys were really spooked. I never saw them spill out of a building so fast.”
