MAD DOG TATTOO went into their cup game this weekend on the back - TopicsExpress

MAD DOG TATTOO went into their cup game this weekend on the back end of an embarrassing league TEAM performance against One Stop Supplements last week and were intent on putting the record straight in their cup fixture this time out against Wilnecote WMC from the league above . After some stern pre-match words from the management reminding the Dogs who they were and why they wear the shirt , a totally different side took to the field this week and they showed their heart in a commanding performance that saw them make the next round of the cup , but only after a dramatic penalty shoot out . The game started with James Bolter having to drop to the bench after pulling up in the pre match warm up which enabled Josh Darren Anderton Heaton to start the game in his place but in an unfamiliar role at centre midfield after plying his trade pre season as a centre back , but the enforced change wasnt going to effect the Mad Dog hype in one bit as Heaton went on to put in performance he should have been proud of ….. Dan Hales was back making his Mad Dog début and this seemed to galvanise the entire team from back to front as straight from the kick off Mad Dog were first to everything and if they werent they gobbled up every second ball going and took the game to Wilnecote WMC unlike last weeks showing where the interest was ZERO ….. Straight from the off Mad Dog m.o.m John Gibson and Stu Ronaldo Dixon combined well to open up Wilnecote and carve open a chance in the first few minutes and their combined play down they left flank was to prove immense as the game wore on as Dixon tore Wilnecote a new arse-hole with his pace and trickery down the flanks and with Callum Frewin doing the same down the other flank the Wilnecote defence may have been forgiven for wishing they had stayed in bed . After countless openings and sheer pressure Mad Dog Tattoo opened the scoring on the half hour mark when Will TAMPLIN decided to put his name in the bag for goal of the season as he memorised the Wilnecote defence with sheer skill on the edge of the box to roll not one but THREE Wilnecote defenders to create space for a chance from twenty yards out that he rifled into the top corner for a goal of real quality . The goal spurred Mad Dogs on and they continued to play quality football as a TEAM and Wilnecote had no answer as the chances kept coming , time and time again but Mad Dogs not putting the game to bed was going to cost them , NEARLY !! . Anything Wilnecote had to offer going forward was mopped up by the strong Mad Dog defence of Dyer and Hales and when they did fashion chances they made the Mad Dog keeper Darrel Hales put any doubts about his goal keeping credentials be put to bed as a Wilnecote free kick from twenty yards out was dramatically at full stretch turned around the post , then minutes later from a corner , free at the back post a Wilnecote player unleashed a fierce drive that went straight through everyone but for the keeper to get down low to his right to turn around the post for another splendid save . Up the other end it was chances galore as Mad Dog started to enjoy the moment and Wilnecote had no answer , but unfortunately the half time whistle went just in time for Wilnecote as Mad Dogs piled on the pressure . Unfortunately for Mad Dogs Matthew I ate Ginger Pubes last night Hussy had to go off at the break due to sickness and with Wilnecote making a change to their system in the second half it changed the shape of the game and with their centre backs now strikers the height and mussel Wilnecote posed up top began to cause Mad Dog problems at the back and two quick fire goals from Wilnecote saw them take an undeserved the lead , as first a long ball over the top caught the Mad Dog defence out and then from a free kick an unchallenged header from Wilnecotes gentle giant found the back of the net . Mad Dogs heads seemingly dropped only for the twelfth man to come into action from the side line as Mad Dogs very own chief Mad Dog supporter Liam Keogh an Co to inspire the team to to get back in the game and this they did . Chances came and went and with the clock ticking down and going full pelt on the Wilnecote goal it looked as if the wrong team were going to walk away with the result until Mad Dogs fox in the box Ryan FORD stepped up with the last kick of the game to head home a thourally deserved goal for his side to take the tie into extra time . Extra time was end to end to end as both sides had great chances and Wilnecote re-took the lead but the joy was short lived for them because as soon as Wilnecote took the lead Mad Dog were back on level terms when Callum FREWIN flicked on a long throw that looped in to the top corner . Both sides in the last five minutes had chances to put the game to bed not none most than a last kick of the match free kick from Will Tamplin who brilliantly bent a free kick from twenty yards out around the wall destined for the bottom corner only to see the Wilnecote keeper pull off a dramatic save and the final whistle went . Only one team deserved to the win this match but penalty’s was going to decide it and after four perfect penalty’s from both sides that saw HALES , DIXON , RICHTER and HEATON all net , the Wilnecote last kicker spooned his effort wide of the post leaving the honours to Mad Dogs Will TAMPLIN to smash home the deciding kick under pressure to see his team through . An INSIPRED TEAM PERORMACE from Darrel Hales between the sticks with his back line of brother Dan HALES and Toxic DYER solid in the heart of defence with m.o.m John Gibson along with youngster Liam DERRINGTON coupled with a busy performance down the flanks from Callum FREWIN and Stu Dixon and the hard work of Josh HEATON and Will TAMPLIN in the heart of the side with the ever busy Ryan Ford always a menace and the shift all the subs Richter and Bolter and BIG Ford put in when needed saw Mad Dog Tattoo complete their passage into the next round of the cup with a performance that showed after last weeks dismal display that they can play football and play as a team !!
