MAGGIE SUE’S DOGMATIC THEOLOGY (5/11) This Sunday is MOTHER’S DAY, a day that we honor all of those people who gave us the awesome gift of life, love and childhood protection, guidance and nurturing care. So to all of you out there who have children that call you Mom, “Happy Mother’s Day!” to all of you!! May is a beautiful month in which we also honor the greatest Mom of them all: the Blessed Virgin Mary, who is the Mother of our Lord! Wasn’t it cool last Sunday when Ms. Carol Parr and Ms. Jane Robnett had the awesomist privilege of crowning Mary, while the whole congregation sang one of our most beautiful Marian hymns “Immaculate Mary”! All Catholics know that in honoring Mary we are not placing her above Jesus, her Son. Mary gave her whole life dedicating it to her Son and all Mary does directs our attention, our prayer and our faith on Jesus, not her. We pray through Mary, not to Mary – so as we continue through this month of May, as we honor our own Moms this weekend, may we all turn to our Blessed Mother and pray for the divine intercessions that we may all live as God’s children, always honoring all our moms!
