MAGGIE THE PUGGLE NEEDS RESCUE HELP! PLEASE SHARE! Rescue Friends: Pug Rescue of Florida was contacted about a puggle that needs rescue help. We do not have an open foster home for a puggle right now. I am hoping another rescue can help this girl soon. The owner is calling Maggie a puggle, but given her coloring, she looks like a puggle mixed with something else. See all attached pictures. The owner has offered to foster Maggie herself until a home can be found, but in all honesty, this dog needs out of this house NOW. The owners husbands technique of disciplining Maggie is kicking and hitting her when she doesnt cooperate like he thinks she should. NEVER a good thing as we all know. The wife is trying to find rescue help for her because she doesnt agree with the way the husband disciplines Maggie, and she doesnt want her to live this way. There is also a toddler in the house currently and another one on the way. Here is all the info on Maggie: •Lives in Cape Coral, FL but transport help could probably be worked out if needed. •Maggie is 9 years old. Owner got her when she was 2 years old. •Since Maggie was adopted, she has been food aggressive. The owner took her to a behaviorist and this has improved over the years, but still need to be cautious. Owner says putting her food on the floor and NOT in a bowl has helped with the food aggression. •Maggie lives with a 2 year old toddler, and there is another baby on the way in February. The owner is worried about 2 toddlers in the house. Maggie HAS nipped at the 2 yr old, but according to owner, ONLY when provoked. Probably best that she not be placed in a home with small kids. •When the husband disciplines Maggie by hitting her and kicking her, Maggie will try to bite him. Cant say I blame her in this situation. If I were a dog, I would bite and snap at him too if I was treated this way. •Maggie is good with other dogs. She lives with 2 Irish Setters and they get along great. •Maggie has not been around cats, so dont know how she would do with them. •Maggie weighs 31-32 lbs. •Maggie is up to date on all vaccinations, heartworm, and flea meds per owner. I believe she is already spayed. I am requesting vet records for confirmation. •Maggie has always liked women better than men per owner. So in short, Maggie probably needs to go to a home with a calm, loving environment with no small kids. If anyone can help, please comment here or email me at pugrescueofflorida@gmail Thank you for any help you can give to Maggie. PLEASE SHARE!
