MAGNANIMITY: Indians are notorious for wasting food. They won’t offer food to the poor in the normal course. But after a feast, or party, when left with leftovers, they show their magnanimity of offering the leftovers to the poor. Their intention is possibly just to dispose of the leftovers. Perhaps they believe that the poor deserve only leftovers! Is it magnanimity? Note: With due respect for those who do such community services conscientiously.
