MAHTANI FILES SUMMONS AGAINST US SITE HOSTING ZAMBIA REPORTS RAJAN Mahtani has filed summons in the Lusaka High Court aimed at serving a claim against a US-based website hosting Zambia Reports, a local online publication that he accuses of having defamed him and his businesses. This is a matter where Finance Bank Zambia and Dr Mahtani, the chairperson of the Mahtani Group of Companies, are seeking a court order for leave to issue writ of summons and a statement of claim against Go Daddy.Com LCC to compel it unmask the journalists that write for the Zambia Reports. The bank and Dr Mahtani, as intended plaintiffs, are alleging that the Zambia Reports has been publishing defamatory and libelous articles against them and their businesses. They also have been complaining locally about journalists whose identities are not known on the Zambian media landscape for posting online articles that were in bad taste to their businesses.
