MAJOR BLOW FOR FORT... Saturdays excellent win at Huntly has been overshadowed by the news that Fort star Craig Mainland suffered a serious injury in the closing minutes of the game. Craig, was on the receiving end of a robust challenge from two Huntly players and fell awkwardly. By Sunday night, Craig was in agony, and his leg had become swollen between his knee and his thigh. He was taken to A and E by assistant manager Ally Ewen, and after an x-ray,he was diagnosed with ligament damage. As a result of this,Craig has to wear a full leg brace and use crutches. He has to return to hospital on Friday for a further scan to assess the damage and to estimate a time scale for recovery. 23 year-old Craig has been outstanding this season, and has got better with each game he has played, and his performances have ensured that he is one of the first names on manager Calum MacLeans team sheet! We would just like to wish Craig all the best, and hopefully well see him back in a Fort jersey sooner rather than later!
