MAKKAH: A wheelchair bridge will be operational during the next Haj in the courtyard of the Grand Mosque as per the directives of Khadim-e-Haramain Al Sharifain Shah Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz. The two-storey bridge will help the weak, elderly and the disabled to perform Tawaf. The bridge will be 15-feet wide and an effort will be made to open it in Ramazan, otherwise it will be opened for the pilgrims during the next Haj. The bridge is “pre-fabricated” and is being assembled in the Grand Mosque rapidly. The Bin Laden Company, in collaboration with a firm based in Dubai, is assembling one of the word’s most advanced pre-fabricated bridges. This bridge will be replaced by a concrete structure in 2015. Once wheelchairs are not allowed in the courtyard, the incidents of injury to the pilgrims due to wheelchairs will be reduced. Great News :) Allhumdulillah
