MAKURDI -ABUJA FLIGHTS BEGIN AUGUST 1 The Benue State government has given approval to Overland Airlines to commence scheduled passenger services from Makurdi to Abuja. Information Commissioner Justine Amase, who disclosed this to newsmen in Makurdi, said the decision was taken by the state executive council. Amase added that the flight ticket per passenger would be obtained at N18,000, while the government has opted to augment other monetary involvements to ensure a successful flight operations. Our correspondent reports that airlines operating in the state packed up in the past due to high operational cost and non-availabilit y of passengers.
