I believe terrorist were involved and they were Muslims from China relative to the recent uprising by Chinese Muslim (Uighur) Groups in and around Xinjiang Province swearing to kill Chinese Buddhists and other non-Muslims. My second choice of reason is something Ive pondered for several years: At 35,000 feet traveling just shy of mach 1 at approximately 550 miles per hour contacting debris of any kind would be catastrophic, especially if its a small meteor or fragment thereof or even a rogue weather balloon. w.m.rose
