MALLOW MAN PROGRESS REPORT: Issue 4: Thumbnailed: 24/24 Drawn: 24/24 Inked: 24/24 Toned: 17/24 Issue 5: Thumbnailed: 36/36 Drawn: 7/36 Inked: 0/36 Toned: 0/36 This week I finished ALL thumbnails through the end of the first story arc! That could very well be one of the hardest parts of making my books because im staring with a blank slate. When I draw pages i have the thumbnails to reference, when I ink Im inking over the pencils, but thumbnails take time and creativity to plan out. I have a small black book that has all the thumbnails from issue 1 through issue 5. I might set it up as a reward for a kickstarter campaign someday. Anyhow, Im really excited about that because now I just have to put pen to paper and draw the book. no more planning or agonizing about how a page layout looks. I may change a page from the thumbnail when Im drawing it but that always comes out organically and is never a strain or time consuming as the original thumbnail. In other news I will be at a Suisun City convention this Saturday at the kroc center from 11 to 4 and the best part is its FREE TO THE PUBLIC! So if you want to meet some local comic artist, please come by say hello. I will be selling the Variant cover of issue 2 as well as some new Mallow Man Prints. Hope to see you there.
