MALWARE WARNING: I got a pop notice from Java to update my current version, I clicked install update, however; I got iStart123. This is being bundled in many places in order to compete with Google, Bing, Yahoo etc.. and to raise it;s ranking of internet browsers. = MORE $$$ IF YOU GET A NOTICE LIKE THE ABOVE MENTIONED DO NOT CLICK OK!!! GO TO THE HOME SITE THROUGH YOUR BROWSER AND SEARCH FOR UPDATES. iStart123 is technically not a virus, but it does exhibit plenty of malicious traits, such as rootkit capabilities to hook deep into the operating system, browser hijacking, and in general just interfering with the user experience. It prevents competing software from changing its settings as well as Disables your browser’s Content Security Policy in order to allow for cross site scripting of the plugin. As well as sending a lot of unwanted crap to your current page! iStart123 homepage gets on your computer after you have installed a freeware software (video recording/streaming, download-managers or PDF creators) that had bundled into their installation this browser hijacker. It took me 6 hours to find a legit post that allowed me to remove it!!! I did one more try before I gave up and opted to re install my Op sys. HOW to REMOVE iStart123 from your computer/Browser 1.Open Chrome and simultaneously tap Alt+F. 2.Select Settings and navigate to On Startup. 3.Mark Open a specific page or set of pages, click Set pages. 4.Change/delete the presented default URL and click OK. 5.Under Appearance mark Show Home button. 6.Click Change and immediately repeat step 4. 7.Go to Search and click Manage search engines. 8.Click X on the undesirable search engine and click Done.
