MAN, 30 AND WOMAN, 27 ARRESTED AND CHARGED AFTER COP CAR CRASH AND ALLEGED ASSAULT IN MIAMI THIS MORNING | A 30-old Varsity Lakes man and a 27-year-old Miami woman have been charged with a string of offences after allegedly assaulting a man and reversing into a police car in Miami on the Gold Coast this morning. At around 7.30am this morning, police were patrolling on Bardon Avenue when they located a 38-year-old man who claimed he had been assaulted, presenting bruises and lacerations to his face and neck. He was transported to Robina Hospital. Police attempted to intercept a vehicle that had left the scene when the vehicle stopped briefly on Oak Avenue before allegedly reversing into the front of the police vehicle, causing minor damage, and driving off. Officers were able to detain the passenger (30-year-old Varsity Lakes man) before the vehicle drove off. Police managed to locate the vehicle a short time later in a nearby street where they arrested the 27-year-old female driver and took her into custody. The Varsity Lakes man has been charged with one count each of robbery in company and grievous bodily harm while the Miami woman was charged with one count each of robbery in company, dangerous operation of a vehicle, possession of a dangerous drug and possession of a drug utensil.
