MAN DIES AFTER BEING TASERED BY POLICE It has been reported that a man aged in his 40s has died after being tasered by police last night outside a Macdonalds food outlet in Mittagong, NSW. The deceased walked into the outlet before 9pm reporting that he had been assaulted. Police were called after he was acting aggressively. Officers from Hume Local Area Command arrived a short time later, and there was a confrontation during which the man was reportedly tasered. He died shortly thereafter. There are conflicting reports about whether he died at Bowral Police Station or in hospital. Police have not released details of the confrontation. The incident follows several tragedies linked to the police use of tasers, including the 2012 death of Brazilian student Roberto Curti who died after being tasered by police up to 14 times.
