MANDELA MONDAY, 23 September 2013 Message from NELSON MANDELA Perhaps the most important inheritance of our new democratic South Africa has been the rebirth of the dignity of the individual – for without dignity, freedom has a bland taste. For many years, all around the world, hospice workers have championed the right to the dignity for their terminally ill. Like Mother Theresa, they have proclaimed through their loving care of those who are dying, that people are infinitely precious. That even at the end of their lives, they matter most. This is the message for Africa – and for the world
