MANUEL FREDREICKS-KANNURS FORGOTTEN OLYMPIC MEDAL WINNING HERO? WHEN all and sundry are crying for tom joseph not getting arjuna and lack of acknowledgement for fact pappen ,k.k.premachandran etc all forgot an olympic bronze medal winner in hockey from kannur named manuel fredricks who was indias bronze medal winning team at munich olympics in 1972 ..All this years for a living he was in karnataka representing public sector team and coaching them and when he returned to kerala till date he was not even recognized even in his home town kannur ..The burnassery ground which made manuel fredricks is no more as military has acquired it and once famed fort maidan has become cemetry like ..Literally manuel has to beg through sportscounsil and government for 3 cent land to even build his own house as he was recently living in a rented house ..Hope CM and state government while recognizing fact pappen,kk.premachandran vp.satyan and tom joseph give a fitting recognition to a first and till date the only olympic winner from kerala named manuel fredricks ..
