MARCH 23 HIS LOVE FOR US NEVER CHANGES Many folk have an erroneous, distorted view of God and the manner in which He acts toward man. They think He is sitting in some mysterious location far above the earth just waiting to administer punishment for the most minor of wrongdoing. They even think that this punishment can come via a bolt of lightning. The true believer knows that is not the kind of God we serve. We serve a loving God, so loving in fact that “He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). Man could not save himself so he needed a Savior. God sent his Son Jesus to be that Savior. When we think about it, we must admit that God has to be the closest friend we have. He is the same yesterday, today and forever, meaning His love for us never changes. When we are going through some stuff, God desires that we lean on Him. ”God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1).
