MARILYN TAYLOR: Upon becoming our Prime Minister, Pierre Trudeau imposed his ‘vision’ of a left wing, communistic-inspired utopia upon us. It was due to his numerous socialist projects that spending ballooned from 13 billion to 109 billion and we were left with a massive debt. Were still paying off Trudeaus debt despite the fact, that hes been out of office for 30 years. Weve witnessed how socialism can ruin a country with, for example, Greece, Ireland, Spain and Portugal. While in concept, taxing people to provide services may be a good idea, the Liberals took it upon themselves to go into a major debt-overload by funding too many socialist special interest projects where they took from many to give to only a few. In my opinion, socialism simply doesn’t work and the sooner we move away from it the better.
