MARK YOUR CALENDAR - October 16 at 6:00pm AUC Press Author Richard Hoath speaks at the Netherlands-Flemish Institute in Cairo Richard Hoath will talk about Egypt’s environment, wildlife, and art. His presentation will look at some of the indigenous species and will be illustrated by Hoath’s own drawings and paintings from his notebooks, journals, and finished plates accumulated after many years exploring much of Egypt, including many of its remoter areas. institutes.leiden.edu/nvic/news/lectures-films.html Richard Hoath is a leading naturalist and long time resident of Egypt. He is the author of A Field Guide to the Mammals of Egypt (AUC Press, 2009) and has collaborated with Dominique Navarro on two of the AUC Press Nature Foldouts--Egypt’s Flora and Fauna (2003) and Cats of Egypt (forthcoming) aucpress/search.aspx?SearchTerm=Richard+Hoath Hoath has traveled extensively around Egypt in search of its extraordinary, often little known, and increasingly threatened, wildlife. He is a monthly columnist for Egypt Today and the author of many scholarly and popular articles on the country’s wildlife. He is a Fellow of the Zoological Society of London and sits on the Egyptian Ornithological Rarities Committee. He is currently on the faculty of the American University in Cairo.
