MARVEL ANIME: IRON MAN: RISE OF TECHNOVORE REVIEW Just got finished watching Iron Man: Rise of Technovore. It was bloody fantastic! Definitely not a bad movie as many make it out to be. In fact, its on par with many of DCs animated films (except for JL: War) if not better! :D Pros: * Very well-written film with an interesting storyline. As well as plenty of heartfelt drama along with horrifying imagery caused by the distortions of Technovore * Stunning animation and visuals. * I was surprised. Ezekiel was a creepy, complex villain. His motives were clear and made sense. Ezekiel is a tragic character who has lost father in a battle against Iron Man. He wanted revenge for his dads demise with biotechnology. The machine part of his brain took over his mind and corrupted him to the point where he lost all humanity in himself. This can explain the monologues from him and Sasha through out the movie. He saw himself as a higher being, a god even. It was really great. * The Punisher, while not having a lot of screentime, still served a purpose in the story and was one of the favorites portions of my movie were with him. * Music was pretty nice too. Cons: Not much! Except for rewatchability and the voice acting sounding dull in some places, the movie was almost perfect. I know for a fact that the main reason this film has been getting a lot of hate is because its taking place during Jeph Loebs time as the head of Marvel Animation. Most think hes rewritten everything and made every single Marvel cartoon awful. I can tell you right now thats a big damn lie. That was probably made up by someone whos first reaction to this news was thought God everything will suck with Jeph Loeb behind it! Marvel Animation is ruined forever! *sigh* Loeb is a extremely nice guy and has written some GREAT stuff. All Im hearing are assumptions as him rewriting shows and films, not evidence. OH and Brandon Aumann wrote this and Iron & Hulk: Heroes United. While IM&H wasnt a great movie, it was awful either. But people dont want to blame Aumann simply by the fact he worked on The Avengers: Earths Mightiest Heroes and Iron Man Armored Adventures, which were mostly before Loeb came in. Nobody has the guts to say all the faults are his doing, even if he is a great writer. Id give this a 9/10. Its great entertainment and definitely does NOT deserve those unprofessional reviews and 1-2 star ratings on Amazon and other sites. Give it a watch! I highly recommend it! :D
