“MAYOR DUTERTE, COMMENDS TASK FORCE DAVAO FOR YOUTH LEADERSHIP SUMMIT” STA. ANA WHARF, DAVAO CITY- Davao City Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte commended the Task Force Davao for a successful Youth Leadership Summit Themed as, Task Force Youth for Peace: “Kabataan para sa Kalinaw, Kasiguruhan ug Kalambuan” (4Ks) held last October 16 to 18, 2013 at Camp Alano, Toril Davao City. “I am happy and grateful that the Task Force Davao made this Youth Leadership Summit a reality. Indeed, this activity is a good venue for training and information for the youth of Davao City, since every youth were taught on how to become good, responsible and law abiding citizens; this will be good of our city and for our country as a whole. Productive activity like this, just makes me happy, fruitful and worth it”, Mayor Duterte said during his speech. Mayor Duterte expects that having this kind of activity will mold the young minds of the participants to get involved in the community, advocates peace and will become future patriotic leaders of our nation. Col. Casiano C Monilla, Commander of Task Force Davao was proud by the success of the activity and heartily congratulates everyone, especially the stakeholders who supported the event he said, “If not by the help of the stakeholders, especially from the Local Government Unit (LGU), headed by our City Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte, this event will not be this successful.” Different sectors of Davao City like City Social Service and Development Office, 10th Infantry Division Philippine Army; 10th Civil-Military Operations Battalion; 5th Civil Relations Group; Eastern Mindano Command; Parlight Production; Philippine Mental Health Association-Davao Chapter; and the Girl Scout of the Philippines had all shown their outmost support. Meanwhile, the offices of the Local Government Unit, Non-Government Organizations, and business sectors to include the Lions Club Entrepreneur, Junior Chamber International, PHILSAGA Mining Corp., Insular Hotel, Jacks Ridge, Wespen Enterprises, Pepsi Cola Bottlers Company, Aboitiz-Thermasouth, Kingdom Jesus Christ, Davao Marina Tuna, Aquino Coliseum, and Eden Resort sponsored the said event. Task Force Davao 2Lt. Chrystin Joan B. Pamplona, CMO Officer was thankful by the success of the summit, for they were able to organize 192 participants from the 12 different districts of Davao. 2Lt. Pamplona said, “Definitely this will not be the last, and it’s just getting started. We owe the success to all the participants, parents, barangay leaders, stake holders from the LGU’s and NGO’s and especially to God, who made everything possible.” The Youth Leadership Summit was made to organize new breed of youth leaders who will deliberately carryout peace, volunteerism, unity in diversity and youth empowerment for the welfare of our nation.
