MEC meeting 5 July 2014 MEC for the Department of Economic and Development (DED) Lebogang Maile, visited Gauteng Enterprise Propeller (GEP) to engage with staff of his plans to recapitalize GEP, so that it meet its mandate for providing financial and non-financial support. He alluded to the fact that Gauteng province has 12, 5million population and about 200 million people are informal traders. MEC said that his department has taken a radical posture to involve GEP on the new economies for Gauteng and it was pertinent that GEP geared itself towards supporting new entrants. GEP will continue to engage its stakeholders about new developments regarding its mandate.
