MEDIA ADVISORY To: All Media Attention News Editors Date: 21 October 2014 MEC MAZIBUKO AND MAMELODI RESIDENTS TAKES BACK “NYAOPE STREET” In response to the scourge of nyaope and the unofficial naming of a street known as “Nyaope”,due to the availability of nyaope, MEC Faith Mazibuko together with the Mamelodi community, local stakeholders and other government departments will march against the name and take the street back. This forms part of our provincial programme of raising awareness about the dangers of substance abuse. To date four hot spots have been identified as Green View, Phomolong Apollo, Phase Five and “Nyaope Street in Mamelodi East. The march will start at Phase Five and ends at Nyaope Street, where MEC Mazibuko is expected to address the community.
