Burning of these types of items results in life safety issues due to the toxic smoke produced by the burning of these materials. AS A RESULT OF THESE ISSUES, THE MD OF FOOTHILLS HAS ISSUED AN IMMEDIATE FIRE BAN FOR THE ENTIRE MUNICIPALITY. MD residents are urged not to burn debris from damaged buildings, structures or vehicles. This type of debris MUST BE disposed of properly at an approved landfill. The MD of Foothills will not be issuing burn permits until further notice. Please be advised that these activities are causing further delays to the re-entry process for displaced residents as our Foothills Fire Department crews are spending time responding to these fires rather than working towards clearing locations that have been under mandatory evacuations.
