*** MEDIA RELEASE *** Garage Fire Friday, January 17, 2014 From Luxemburg Community Fire Department On January, 16th at approximately 9:00 pm, the Luxemburg Fire Department was dispatched to E1664 Canyon Creek Ln in the Town of Luxemburg for a garage fire. Upon arrival, firefighters found a 4 stall detached garage filled with vehicles, about 50% involved in fire. Immediately adjacent to the garage was a propane tank, and the home owners residence. Firefighters were able to knock down the fire through the overhead garage doors and service door. The structure sustained heavy damage with a partial roof collapse. Two personal vehicles were destroyed, with heavy damage to other vehicles and equipment in the structure. There was no damage to the residence. Firefighters remained on the scene for about 2 hours. Departments providing mutual aid where Casco, New Franken, and Kewaunee. The Brussels-Union-Gardner stood by at the Luxemburg station in case of a second call. Luxemburg Rescue stood by on scene in case of injury. There were no injuries. Cause of the fire remains under investigation. Chief Lew Du Chateau Luxemburg Fire Department
